Public Works

The Public Works and Parks Department provides a variety of services for the citizens of Millersville.

The department is divided into four areas, including Sewer, Streets, Sanitation and Parks.

The Sewer Division is responsible for the installation and maintenance of the city's sewer system.

This involves installing new lines and sewer systems, inspecting sewer lines and sewer systems,

and maintaining existing sewer lines.  This department also assumes responsibility for marking and

keeping up with the underground sewer utilities.

The Street Division installs and maintains the roads and drainage structures and maintains the right-a-ways.

This involves building roads and/or assisting contractors in the building and resurfacing of roads.

It also involves pothole patching, crack sealing, and marking of roads.  The Street Division is also

responsible for maintaining the right-a-ways including mowing and clear cutting.  Traffic signing is also the

responsibility of this department.

The Parks Division is responsible for the construction and maintenance of city parks, buildings, and other structures.

This involves mowing and maintaining city owned properties.  This division is also responsible for the building cleaning

and maintenance.

The Sanitation Division began operating in January of 2004 and  provides Millersville with city wide

residential garbage collection.  This service will replace the nearly one dozen private collectors that now operate within

city limits.  The fee for the collection service is $15.00 a month for most residents and is billed on the

sewer utility bill.  The city provides a large wheeled container to the users.

If you have any questions or if you have a public works related condition to report, please call City Hall at 859-0880.
