You are invited to a FEMA Informational Flood Relief and Recovery Assistance Meeting in Goodlettsville:
What: FEMA, TEMA, SBA and Sumner County EMA officials will be at the meeting to explain relief programs and options, and to answer questions from the citizens.
When: Wednesday, May 12, 2010
Where: Auditorium at Goodlettsville City Hall - 105 South Main Street
Time: 6:00 p.m.
Who: Residents and Business owners are urged to attend
FLOOD VICTIMS MUST REGISTER WITH FEMA TO START THE PROCESS OF GETTING ANY SORT OF FEDERAL HELP.
You may call FEMA at 1-800-621-3362 or visit the Disaster Assistance link below to register for assistance. The structure must be your primary residence to qualify. There are programs for people with and without flood insurance.
Also, FEMA has opened two centers in Middle Tennessee to help flood victims. They are located at One Hundred Oaks Mall in Berry Hill and in Centerville at the Centerville Community Church of Christ on North Central Avenue.
The centers will be open 7 days a week from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. and they will be there for quite some time.
After you register with FEMA, expect a phone call to set a time for a visit to assess the damage. The turn-around time from inspection to actually receiving the dollars is approximately one week to 10 days.
